Alex Shiffer
Principal - Technical Director
Alex is a co-founder of Zelacom and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm. As Technical Director, he is responsible for all systems, including Web servers (Unix & NT) and specialized technology such as online transaction processing and streaming media.
Alex is a skilled systems troubleshooter and programmer who is fluent in various flavors of UNIX. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Computer science from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz, and a M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
Sharon Richman
Principal - Creative Director
Sharon Richman, also a Zelacom co-founder, is responsible for all Zelacom site design and specialized programming. Her background in both fine arts and computer science allows her to design the appropriate interface for our client's message while working within the limits of the medium.
In addition to design, illustration, and page composition expertise, she is a skilled programmer fluent in C, PERL, JavaScript, Java and HTML. This unique combination of skills allows Zelacom to offer clients customized programming that is integral to the design process. Sharon has been the principal designer and/or Webmaster for more than 60 Web projects in the last ten years.
Sharon holds a B.S. in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz and a B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science (cum laude). She has completed additional graduate studies at Brandeis University (LISP and Artificial Intelligence), SUNY New Paltz (matriculated for M.S. in Mathematics), and Eastern Michigan University.
Staff & Partners
In addition to the principals noted above, our staff is expert in the writing, editing, and structuring of online communications, focusing on the "usability" of Web sites and the site visitor experience.
For specialized services (video production, large-scale database deployment, etc.) and non-Web services such as print collateral development, Zelacom has established strategic partnerships with specialized vendors. These partners are noted for top-of-the-line service in their areas of expertise.
